Command and Conquer#
No version of the game is known to include debug symbols.
The game was released in remastered form, with source code, in 2020. The source for the original version was eventually released in 2025, and can be retrieved here..
Note that this also includes remnants of the Dune strategy game that Westwood made prior to this game.
Debug Keys#
Removed from the final game by excluding the CHEAT_KEYS flag. There were also unique keys for Virgin’s playtesters with VIRGIN_CHEAT_KEYS.
These would have allowed one to take screenshots of the game, instantly build various objects, finding paths, and opening the map editor.
CONQUER.INI#
There are several hidden options in the game that are recognized, such as
- TrueNames - Can be set to TARBOSH to show actual object names
- Players - Can be set to 6 to enable six players at once
- Sounds - Can be set to 7TH GRADE to enable juvenile onomatopoeia
